GEMMA SOLANELLAS
Gemma is passionate about encouraging people to learn through heritage. Over the past 15 years, she has been designing and delivering family workshops and lifelong learning programmes in Barcelona and in 2010, she co-founded Open House Barcelona, as part of Open House World Wide, organising an architecture festival which engages over 40.000 people every year to experience and learn about Barcelona’s architecture.
In order to transfer her knowledge and skills to the UK, she undertook an MA in Arts Policy and Management at Birkbeck, University of London (2014-15) and a PGCert in English Architectural History at the University of Oxford (2017-18).
In 2019, when living in Reading, she co-founded ARCHI-adventure, with Viktoryia Varhanava and Helen Goddard, with the aim to engage children and their families to connect with architecture.
